The Pioneer SC-LX901 features a powerful amplifier, the Class D3 Direct Energy High fidelity class D Amplifier, that is capable of supporting the latest high definition content. Equipped with aspects like MOSFET and the Direct Power FET, this high powered amplifier is in line with today’s AV standards. Its custom bypass capacitors further enhance the advantages of the Class D3 amplifier. Additionally, it also produces a powerful bass sound while simultaneously delivering subtle details. The Class D3 Amplifier has been designed with a simple structure to take a straight and short signal path - this results in an improved sound quality.
Most Class AB amplifiers that drive all channels at full power can do so only for a short time and use about 300 to 400 W of power output. But the Pioneer SC-LX901 is different. The SC-LX901’s Class D3 Amplifier has the ability to drive 11-channels at once at an 850 W power output - and it does all this while efficiently delivering dynamic content.
The SC-LX901 comes with an improved circuit design - it features dedicated ICs on the circuit board that are designed to deliver crisp and clean sound. The operational amplifier IC that is used to process small signals and is set apart from the amplifying section to prevent mutual interference. This allows clear signals to be transmitted to the Direct Power FET.
Moreover, the Direct Power FET is directly connected to the print circuit board without any additional wiring. How does this help? This simple structure maximizes audio performance by reduced noise and improved switching, offering a quick-responding sound, perfect for digital content playback.
The best part about the SC-LX901 is that it is compatible just about every source including the 7.2.4ch/7.2.2ch/5.2.4ch configuration of the latest home theater sound platform, Dolby Atmos. This extraordinary AV receiver can reproduce object-oriented compatible movies/music in smooth, curving movements, or the realistic three-dimensional movement overhead by utilizing Dolby Atmos Enabled and/or in-ceiling speakers.
A point to note - while using the Pioneer Elite Dolby Atmos Enabled Speakers you will need a listening room ceiling that should have a horizontal and flat hard surface (for audio reflection) and a height of 8’ to 14’.

A common aspect of Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers is that high directivity sound from the unit reflects off the ceiling, while low directivity sound directly reaches the ears. So the user experiences different pathways of sound that are in the middle of a phase shift. This makes the ear uncomfortable. That’s where the reflex optimizer technology comes into play. The Reflex Optimizer which uses the Phase Control technology and adjusts this shift improving the localisation of the sound image by aligning the frequencies with those of the floor speakers, thereby creating the ideal reproduction environment.
A Multi Channel Acoustic Calibration System or MCACC Auto Room Tuning technology is an important feature of the Pioneer SC-LX901. It is capable of creating an acoustic sound environment. Using a custom microphone, the system automatically compensates for differences in speaker size, level and distance, and equalises response.
